@Shafer why? I don t see the difference with the plot of “who kidnapped the empress?” Regarding the betrayal, and she was betrayed by her husband (ok she did not love him) and his mistress.
Lots of plots of woman betrayed and killed by their betrothed or husbands that they love while they had mistresses, sometimes the FL sister or best friend.
