First off, it’s an interesting choice that he decided to tell them. Not sure exactly why he did. Second, I actually HATE the parents reactions but can sympathize to a certain extent. However, the fact that they are considering Arthur to be some kind of leech that “took” their son’s life is kind of weird to me. He is their son and he has memories from his past life. It’s very simple. Let’s say “their” son did exist and was somehow pushed out by Arthur then does that mean they believe in souls? Then their son’s soul would just be born into some other baby or not born at all. But would that even be their son at that point? If it has a no physical body and they’ve never “met” the original son then why the fuck would you consider this imaginary soul to be your son more than the boy you actually gave birth to and raised for 13 years? It just doesn’t make sense and it doesn’t seem that these people have a religion that says everyone has a soul and that’s what makes someone “themselves.” Idk I feel it’s just kind of ignorant on the parents part especially considering there is no mention of souls in this world

Why he need to admit that? Many Isekai characters didnt admit and tell stories of their past life.
No Spoilers please
I think this is one of the reasons they choose a slime in That time I got reincarnated as a slime

If i was the father i would have told her
“Let’s say that our original son was fated to die at birth, Arthur’s reincarnation gave life to a child that was never to be. All that has happened is Arthur has retained memories of a past life which is a miracle. I love my son and thats the end of it.”

beautifully done. this chapter is very deep. yes that’s family. one doesn’t need to be a part of bloodline to be considered as family. a bloodline but a traitor to the family, then he should not be treat sa family. a family is yah the one we learned from this chapter. again arthur is arthur, we have different personality and way to approach things that was affected by our experiences

A lot of immature people commenting without understanding their parents. The way he told to his parents, any mature adult, parent of a kid, would be in shock, traumatized, and wonder if it was their own kid of if it was possessed at birth. And questioning how that kid would be if not a reincarnated being. If he told that in a different way I’m sure the parents would accept him as their kid. Again. It was either bad writing or intentional, and more i read i see it was intentional, but still if I put myself in the place of that parent i don’t know if I’d accept him as my child at some point. I would never tell my daughter though, so she would be happy having a brother.

I do get their sentiments about an adult inhabiting a child’s body, but Arthur is still their child. They raised him and some other stuff. He might have been away more than he was with them, but he was still their child. They could have been more lenient with how they’ll judge him.

@FabioGross nah, most just ignore the ethics. Both korean and japanese. The few ones that question the actual implications of a grown adult in a baby’s body are really rare
Flowoii
dude tf r the parents so mean..
FabioGross
Korean isekai: what are the ethics and moral implications of reincarnation?
Japanese isekai: am I a child again? Nice, now I can “sleep” with a bunch of underage girls legally

Dude this reminds me of that one story where fl was from another world and she felt guilty about taking the body of another child turns out og baby died mom used black magic to summon another soul to inhabit the body and the mother was like i love you no matter what that was sweet
