From the lack of comments, I can see people increasingly dropping off. Send one ship to find the other continent, doesn’t use any of those instantaneous scrolls to communicate what it’s discovered or where it’s located, magically they’ commandeer the whole thing and the Alacryans are able to reverse-engineer everything from that one ship after they spent months sorting out small details like the furnace based on Arthur’s knowledge. They would have had a plan to sink the ship or destroy any of the tech if there was any possibility of it being stolen. This isn’t how these forward pushes in technology played out in actual history and a story is only shittier when it tries to recreate technological advances from history but deviates from how they actually played out.
