wouldnt that mean the woodsmell was from the wand? so a tree out of which wands are carved?

and coincidentally we also have a magician running amok in the country…
well doesnt make sense though for the mage to target the princess though as to him she is in a similar situation as his lover….
and it makes even less sense to target the empire when the kingdom was the culprit….
