So I’ve rewritten this story in my head now and I don’t care what the truth is.
He was genuine the whole time because too many calculations are boring. The audience also can’t decide how much plot armor someone gets. So he erased his memory and was genuine the whole time. Only when her death was near and out of his control did he snap back into the devil we see now. He truly loved her. He didn’t take sick pleasure in all this. He was a true cinnamon roll. That’s my new history for this and I’m sticking to it

This is the most realistic and humane FL I’ve seen. Not overly cold, not overly cheerful, just like a normal human trying to think what to do in this kind of situation and bursting in anger at Diabel for being a fake. I have hope on her.
