The author doesn’t know how to write drama and tension. They make the FL flipflop all over the place. She goes from standing up for herself from Jacques to suddenly submitting. I think she does like the abuse because earlier a few chapters back, she was shoving him away and now she almost got assaulted at Lowell’s place.

I don’t understand why she said what she said either because we’ve seen she has no issues saying what’s on her mind. Now suddenly you can’t tell him you’re worried about his reputation? Instead made it seem like you were in love with your husband? Flip flopping.

His reputation? Who gives an F, he certainly doesn’t. There is drama all the time in the social world, even she is the subject of it. He’s already an illegitimate child who gained recognition for his abilities in war, he can easily quell any rumors. I think she likes getting abused at this point, bc she definitely can’t handle being the dom. Lowell is too much like a trained dog, while Jacques doesn’t listen at all until he’s smacked himself a few times and realizes he’s a beta-cuck.

I hate where this is going so much. First of all why the hell did the FL word her response like that? “I’ll never forgive you”? Are you kidding me author? That’s just inviting misunderstandings to camp out in your living room. And this crap at the end with the pitiful lighting and woe-is-me attitude THAT SHE SEEMS TO BE FALLING FOR?? Do NOT let her reconsider or I’m gonna lose my mind.
