If she really ran away and they found out she’s not the real daughter they would brand her as a criminal anyways and she will end up dead one way or another, best thing to do is find allies and what’s a faster method than marriage? No one can touch someone’s betrothed except the emperor and he’s not involved in this case sooo that’s a good decision considering she lacks time and resources

Yeah this does not apoear to be an era with bourgeoisie so nobles can probably kill peasents with impunity and it may even be illegal for those without titles to own land or hire armed guards (this has been the case at some point in many countries throughout history) so just having money woukd not be enough to protect her.

Everyone saying she should hve ran away after waking up but honestly idk if u wake up you would thing it most likely to be a bad dream and not the future that’s surely to happen. She at least started changing her mindset of not relying on “family” and started making plans.
