“Bad” is a light way to say about the TL before this chapter you can’t even tell which they mean when they said duke, wife, bother, pagoda and so on and so forth because the TL were such a mess.
.
Also rather than chemistry it’s more suitable to say Odette fall in love with the mage purely because he’s the first man that actually treated her right and always by her said. I might be wrong because the TL but ircc she thought that having the mage always besides her was something that she took for granted and only realize she loved him when it’s near the time he had to leave. Which is just right for “first love” kinda story not to heavy not to light.

I don’t think this should’ve been a romance. I don’t feel any love connection between fl and the mage, whom she said she fell in love with, then again translation is bad so who knows if that’s what was really said.
