Well, basically everyone except for Yurien is a human dumpster in he Imperial Family. The first prince is only worried about inheriting the throne because he is the first born, and will do anything to that end. The second prince is no different since he is the son of the second Empress who the Emperor loved so much. He is most possible the one who sent the sword to Roaz in order to cause a disturbance and dishonour Yurien. The thing is, none of them ever realized that Echinecia has such a high affinity for mana and would continue weilding the sword dispite it driving her mad with bloodlust. She would eventually kill her way through the Imperial Capital and all of the surrounding cities in her mad rage. She would only regain herself after she had nothing more to kill in her vicinity for a prolongued period of time, that is the reason she took two years even after the Azenka massacre to regain her original self.
