MC write the guy as protagonist in his novel so ofc nobody knows he is the villain until the ending as shown in chapter 1. So it makes sense for the mercenary lady to have good connection with the guy since we’re still (probably) at the beginning of the novel.

Wait!!!! That woman seems like has connection to that villain!!! And its not normal connection its more like a crush or something?. Did the mc write that they will be enemy or a couple? Or maybe later she will discover the villain then become enemy?. I hope the mc will understand that coming to this world everything will change for what he knows or what he write in his novel after all this people are real not fiction.
