Well, for a woman in that era, marriage is the only way to esacape her hellhole of a family. Also, women are conditioned to be inherently fearful towards men. That way, they are not just submissive, but alsoblindly obidient.

Well I don’t think the point is glorifying marriage i guess she is just being desperate in every corner of her life she obviously was living in fear of her fam and wanted to be loved and accepted so badly by them so she wanted a solution that doesn’t go against this, when in reality if she broke the glass on her 3rd husband’s head and run away his highness could’ve saved her, and i guess u can’t blame somone who didn’t see love from family about seeking it so desperately, so stop hating on marriages guys

@karma.a I mean it’s historically accurate, no matter how much we deny it that’s how things used to be. In some eras girls couldn’t get married because their families couldn’t afford a dowry. Until this day there are people who can’t get married because of dowry issues be it a man(in the middle eastern countries, muslims to be exact)or a woman(in india as far as I heard).
Believe it or not there are still people out there who’s only ambition is getting married even after studying and getting degrees they sit at home waiting for someone to marry them. Traditions like that don’t die easily.

Kind of disgusting how they are glorifying marriage like this, but I hope there’s character development later on when she realizes that she’s more than someone’s wife, and that she can do stuff on her own, without being married to him or having to use his name
