I think it’s like code words. From the context clues, it seems that Dahlia and her sister aren’t really free from the ML’s control.
Thankfully he isn’t and hasn’t done anything for the past year, but he is monitoring their every move in case of an emergency. Right now, I think the new flowers that Dahlia found at the port are considered toxic, especially for the little sister’s health so he’s trying to stop it🤔
