Once Dimitry and Cairo is done with Chronos, a long and bloody war will have been fought and Dimitry, and espically Cairo, will have exhausted a lot of their resources and will have plenty of post-war cleanup to handle. That is the moment when Valhalla will pounce and try to seize control of an Exhausted Dimitry and Cairo. So Redford and Hector is the backup plan for the second invasion. Redford and Hector will act as the initial bulwark against the attack of Valhalla and will give Dimitry enough time to recover and regroup. He is smart. Very smart.
