Tariffs wont work because they are general tariffs. Targeted tariffs on certain industry helps keep jobs and can help create jobs. If I wanna make computers in america I still have to buy parts and materials from other countries. Itd be smarter to target manufactured products in specific industry and give businesses incentives with policy to build manufacturing capabilities in America. The only thing the tariffs are doing now is harming small businesses and hurting existing manufacturing by increasing cost on raw material.
In the case of this manhwa what the MC is doing is corruption and consolidation. I will support you if you give me incentives to build factories here. Thats not how this should ever work, a billionaire should never be able to sit down with a politician and offer them money for things, thats how the current government is.

Crazy because I read the novel version last yr and parts of it is exactly happening around the world right now. Like the tarrif, revival of manufacturing in US etc. Even trump having jin hoo as right hand man, a business man, like Elon musk irl. Is the Author some sort of clairvoyant or diviner? LoL

only reason tariffs wont work is because in america people are too selfish and dog eat dog world while china is more united on the outside looking because as communist the gov controls everything including media so even if chinese are suffering you will never hear a spec about it as its all censored.
