He already had three weeks to get the feel with the secret technique, and since both phoenix and that secret technique come from the same family, they’re probably related. And it’s also possible he read some part of it and managed to master it. No way in this chapter did he ever mention he already fully mastered the phoenix. And there’s also the possibility that what he showed her was just the secret technique he already learnt for 3 weeks. Both techniques are fire attribute anyways since they come from the same family.
