I bet when the author wrote this she thought to herself, “I’m so smart. This is so interesting.” But it’s actually just really stupid.
Logical inconsistencies aside, it’s stupid on an emotional level as well.

Naww, this is kinda stupid and sooo many loop holes are already in there. For example if the emperor knows what she’s supposed to be doing then he should know about the rest of the story and should be able to stop it. If he doesn’t know the rest of the story then how does he know she’s not following the story? And with the fact that he knows what she is then they can use that to twist the story in whatever non logical way they want.
