Looks like this was rushed.
The novel apparently had the explanation of why time was reversed/a second timeline created/whatever. Astina was a character in her (according to the summary of the english mtl of the original language version which doesn’t *do* gendered pronouns) own right, and first life-Lucerne learned some aspects of the truth (though way too late).
Not satisfying for me–not because they changed the story but because I don’t like it when timey-wimey shenanigans are just left out there as dues ex machina and the god in question never even shows up to take credit.
Don’t bet on side stories here–if they killed off Astina then they’ll basically have to *write* their own side stories instead of just illustrating them, and that’s more effort (and budget) than they ever put toward this manhwa.
(Also I’m pretty sure there’s a SEVERE plot contradiction–originally Elisha thinks she died from that head injury. BEFORE Whatsit-fatty-jerkface was killed by Lucerne. If in the first timeline she found out she was pregnant after the head injury, then spent a year or two passing Astina off as Whatsit’s child…Then ladies and gentlemen, we have a plothole that you could lose a truck in.
