I think people are underestimating his trauma from the betrayal of his 1st wife, and all that. He doesn’t love her, attracted sure, but he didn’t want to get married again. And a lot of her habits are similar to the ex wife. He’s learning she’s different and enjoying the differences, but dude has been depressed for a long time., with no one realizing it.
