She doesn’t want to lie, but she still lied to her lawyer. She’s a moron.
I don’t even know why ML married this moneyless piece of tool.
If only the FL is not her and another smart woman, the first tragedy wouldn’t even happen. And yet the title of this story is still blaming the earl.
It was the FL who keeps itching to do something in her life when she has absolutely no money or skills in the first place.
If I were the FL, I would learn how to wash my own laundry first so when she ran away again, she would at least know how to wash herself.

I really wouldn’t mind it if she had spoken to her lawyer beforehand and yet it resulted into this situation. It’s just that I felt her decision was very rash but then again after my frustration is gone I think 6 months in prison isn’t that bad and now I remember she was always like this…she gave the ML a chance too yk so I think that’s just a character trait.
She is a well written complex character.

I don’t think it was dumb per se. She wasn’t willing to compromise her morals, and after everything she did to save Isabel and Jake initially for Ian, if she threw Jake under the bus like what Ian wanted, even if Isabel understood, she’d never forgive them. Likely escaping and doing something rash that she’d feel responsible for. This was supposed to be her taking responsibility for her own actions, good and bad.
