I read the novel. I don’t like the ML that much, he comforted Agnes when she resolved the misunderstanding with her mother but ML doesn’t want to resolve the misunderstanding with his father and insisted on what he knows
and experienced should be correct. ML also forgets his role as a commander whenever Agnes is concerned. He’s like a teenager who just had his first spring. He also cries easily much more than the FL, for a seasoned commander who had suffered many battles, he seems too soft.
