So I just binged chapters 1-21, time for my review.
While the art and genre are right up my alley I won’t be continuing the series. This almost feels like the prototype of “the irregular at magic academy” and I don’t mean that in a bad sense. Supplementing magic with technology is a setting I think still has a lot to be explored and this does a really good job in mixing futuristic and medieval tropes.
The issues I’m having is that everything has seemed very rushed and it doesn’t feel fully fleshed out yet. The main characters goals are…vague at best and the title system, the school, his back ground, family relationships, etc are barely touched on before moving forward. “Yep he was awesome, then he sucked, now he’s awesome again, moving on.” If these 21 chapters were to be redone as say 30 with a bit more context it would go a long way I believe.
Final score (for me) is 3.9/5 it’s good and has amazing potential, I might even pick it up again in 6 months.
