   Wow… It’s actually really sweet in a way. He’s telling her that he’s in the wrong and that he feels guilty, and that he doesn’t want to tell her the truth on account that he knows she will be too considerate towards him, and that he wants her to be firm in staying angry at him for hurting her. It’s sad, but it’s more sweet then if he were to just make excuses in saying he loves her and all.
