Boys with daddy issues 🙄 they act like that irl and grow hatred for women like their moms and sisters. Idk I think they admire the blunt logic and physical strength. They think women coddle them too much with empathy and act like therapists. The same thing when Shounen protagonists become besties with their enemy (Goku and Vegeta, Hiei from yyh, etc.,)
Even if they were raised “right”, they’ll at least have a phase like this if it isn’t permanent or too late. (15 yrs old might be pushing it for this lad to achieve redemption).
Idk I guess they view women as weak pushovers? You have to make them realize a single mother/sister who escaped a toxic ex and struggling to raise them is STRONG, not weak (anymore). [Lol like Bulma or Genkai) Even my brother whom I’m very close with sometimes gets like that. He’s mostly grown out of it, but he’ll have the occasional tendency where he prefers to listen more to male friends or kind strangers.
