I mean she could’ve said she missed him instead of asking if he missed her . She is confident he loves her while we know he has his doubts about how she feels , and also she is more popular while he has trouble connecting or even just interacting with people she doesn’t wanna feed that inferiority he is feeling and show him that their feelings are mutual.
