I think something happened with Saku’s mother and she returned to Earth from the mansion because of it. When she returned to Earth, she was most probably killed off, since she was intended as a sacrifice and she reurned alive despite her life being forfeit.

You dragons didn’t think 1st what could possibly make her kill herself?
I’ve seen a lot of anime that shows that if a sacrifice come back to their families they will kill the sacrifice because they were there to be killed or whatever, so there’s no reason for them to be back.
Besides, the people would be frightened if a curse will be given to the village since the sacrifice was able to escape.
