I know the author chose this kind of setting. But this makes fl look so bad. She appears to be a coward, that hides behind that bit information she has. Which isn’t even confirmed to be true.
In her shoes I would try to find out what happened in the 2 years they were married. I would try to get to know the Duke better to understand why Grace was feeling a certain way.
Even if fl can’t trust his kindness, it’s quite absurd to come to the conclusion he wants to kill her to be with another woman. Sounds like she watched too much bad dramas in her previous life. I understand she wants to survive. But the way to go seems quite ridiculous to me.
Also communication is key. 😘
