The empress’s situation is perfect for a mana nullification, she suddenly turned brutal like Ludwig did, she too had a “chronic illness” and she keeps herself locked for new knowledge… It seems too suspicious. The culprit might not be the empress like they want us to believe….
my guess is that someone (might be the author of that weird book) took her body after the Duke consort died (probably killed him), made the empress believe she did it, just like the book mentioned and caused her to have a mana nullification then took her body. That same person is probably now using Ludwig to extend their life further.
In order to do that, they need to be someone close to the empress, seeing her birth and someone that could easily approach her maternal chamber with the Duke Consort.
