He’s already been there since he was their age. He just happened to have survived longer than the rest.
He was number 13. They’re up to almost 2000. All the other kids that were taken at the same time as he was likely died.
Plus, for better or for worse, it’s easier to disappear and control a child.

In my opinion it’s a stupid idea to use kids for experiments especially since ml was much older and he arrived much sooner but he survived many experiments in a row and they started coughing blood which proves that a body of a child isn’t able to survive that kind of experiments
