I agree with Inlustris_N_Robin (yup haven’t figured out how to reply without manhwaclan tripping on me). I think is FL’s instinct to maintain the original story because she put so much effort into it to make people happy. The game’s purpose was to shed hope to people who are struggling (Etc etc) so she wants to make everyone happy.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s infuriating to see her ruin her chances to make the story actually have a happy ending, but I can see the FL’s desire to just maintain the story instead.

Perhaps she’s still viewing this as a world she has no right to tarnish and alter and she’s trying to maintain the original story which would have resulted in everyone’s happiness. As the author she didn’t consider the possibility of the very character she wrote to be the protag to suddenly become sadistic and she’s trying to clean up the mess left behind by the new ‘protag’.
Essentially she doesn’t see herself as the key for a better future since it wasn’t the future she created and worked at for years, so seeing things slowly fall apart is just confusing her.’
