It’s sad because even though Laria needs to understand she is loved now, she isn’t wrong entirely- she knows the Duke wants her death and to go through with this whole scheme to bring back his wife, and why would she ever think he could love her more as his daughter-in-law then the wife whom he loved and cherished and did all this for in the first place? I get why she thinks she needs to leave still to make her father-in-law happy; he hasn’t given her any clear signs that he wants to take back his plan, and doesn’t know to SHOW those signs because he isn’t aware that she knows of those plans to begin with.
Honestly- I can’t even imagine the shitshow of a conversation these people will all have when they realize everything, and when they try to find out how she even knew of a plan he had never so much as voiced out loud :/
