   So this is my thoughts, I could be wrong, but I think the stepmother/Duchess is trying to kill the real daughter and she’s the one who put the curse on the real daughter. The Duke figured out how to transfer the curse to the fl. So now the Duchess is trying to kill the fl so that the curse will transfer back to the real daughter. The Duchess seems to have mind controlling powers and is pretending to be weak and innocent.
