Girl’s having war flashbacks and everyone else is just like “how about some pretty rocks?” 😂 but from those last panels, it looks like she’s not going to be the only one who ends up with PTSD.
Best interpretation of this chapter:
– Siena is still battling with the past and present, she desires atonement for what the Nacht family did to her in her previous life, but she knows that’s not possible in this life because the Nacht family have treated her as if she were kin. Thus, she is resigned to keep those turbulent emotions bottled up within her.
– The Gildinac family paid compensation by assets (Siena seems to refuse the compensation since she believes it’ll simply go to Lorena when she arrives anyway) instead of their lives because of Siena’s interjection. It would seem they acted under the influence of dark magic via a potion/poison, likely by a group who secretly practices dark magic (“Sue”).
– Grand Duke explains that while becoming a Master of Hesaros is a great honour, it comes with great responsibilities and Siena would need to take care not to overexert herself like she did with her “First Discovery” (First Discovery is a pivotal moment for all wizards, as it’s their very first experience and demonstration of magic). However, Grand Duke Nacht also reminds Siena that no matter what she decides she is still a free person and will always be backed by the Nacht duchy which takes her by surprise.
– Young Master Michael also seems to be remembering memories of his past life in the last panels (illegal cliffhanger).
