After reading some comments:
I think he’s the king of the vestiges – which is the evil left over from the gods that no longer exist?? I can’t remember if that’s what the vestiges are, but I think it is.
Also, she may be acting dumb because she did write this novel, but she did mention a couple chapters ago that it’s no longer going according to how she wrote it. So she can no longer predict it.
