Why the hell did she leave her personal guard at home when entering a war zone? Not only does it make no sense for her to make that choice but even less sense that the vice leader allowed it. She’s so obviously going to have a problem that the author should have put up a neon sign saying “I have to make them do stupid stuff in order for the plot to occur.”
