This story’s always been a slow burn, so the pacing seems fine to me. If anything, it’d mess it up and feel like they were rushing it if they just had them get over their trauma and meet again already.
Not everything has to be fast-paced and just because a story is taking it’s proper time, doesn’t mean they’re dragging it out lol
.
If it feels too slow then you can put your reading on hold for now and come back when it’s finished to rush through the story at your own pace, maybe? I have some action series on hold so I don’t have to deal with cliffhangers on the fights and it’s not so bad
