I don’t understand why she’s so upset that Julius is upset. I would get it if this boy was like a son to her, but her feelings towards him are unclear. The fact that a 20 year old boy is in love with a woman who’s almost 20 years older than him and basically sees her as a mother figure is strange. Plus, it’s like she’s forgotten that Raul’s death was Julius’s fault. If Julius had said, ‘Let the soldiers go and save Raul,’ and half of them had gone for Ilian, Raul wouldn’t have died. All these years, Ilian suffered because she lost her son while Julius didn’t care that the boy died. I don’t understand, someone who did that to you should be punched, not feel guilty. Why does she feel guilty? What are her feelings towards him? There’s a tall, kind, gentlemanly boy right next to you, and yet you have your eyes on someone who, other than a woman in her 40s that he loves, doesn’t consider anyone else as a person. And he’s so easily willing to throw you out of his life just because you’re not that woman. I don’t think this makes any sense. Who cares if he’s angry, what can you do? You can’t lose your world just because of someone else. If I were a mother and had a child, if one day our house caught fire and only I was saved for example, if my husband saved only me I would hate him for the rest of my life. But that aside, a boy who’s 20 years younger than you? Sorry, but the writer indirectly hints at that relationship, and that’s not okay.
