Except he says that dream is a verb and job is a noun….
Job/profession (noun): Who you are what you make for a living.
Dream(verb): your goal in life things you enjoy doing like hobbies.
.
Essentially, he’s saying that she can follow her dreams while having a profession and it’s ok to not make a living off of your dreams.
It’s impossible to be a dream
One of the greatest Chinese curse is “may you find all that you’re looking for”. Because once you do, you lose your purpose in life. There’s nothing else left to do but die. So always find that next goal or dream even if it comes true.

Noun: used to “identify” a person, place, thing or idea.
Verb: describes “the actions”, occurrence or state of being.
Dream(noun): the “ideal” scenarios that one envisions.
Job(verb): the “actual” duties and responsibilities.
In short the reality (job) of a person’s responsibilities can be different from the idealized vision (dreams) that a person may have.
