The mc is foolish, so is the author. Cause the norm different from your modern worrld, you can not force them to obey you. Use logical thinking, negotiation, and take time to implement it. Cause you dont agree with execution of all family member including child, the mc just force it with power, worst of all after years he dont change his approached. Still in my eyes the mc is the one at fault. Worst written. The author just use modern world perspective to force reader accept it without logical thinking.
I know some mc who dont accept slavery in a novel. He dont force it. He use gladiator to free a champion as free man. And each year he try to erase slavery with his soft policy. Not unlogical and idealistic like this.
Mc is the one wrong. There is nit charachter progession for mc.
