Like, it could just be the wording of *this* translation, but when theon mentioned julia’s house having been supporters and him getting mad at her saying he was “distracted” and the way it cut off at “do you know how much Julia and I”, it felt like he was gonna mention something about them working together for her, like for her reputation among the other nobility and stuff, not their relationship or how much they feel for each other. Her emotions just didn’t give her the chance to say it…

Can’t really be blamed though since they’ve been showing exactly how manipulative Ethan was (and still is), so you’re bound to second guess everything from the 1st timeline and how fl perceived it, especially seeing now exactly how broken she became because she followed his words, starting with killing her brother and becoming emperor being the best way to become happy.
She has faults of her own yes, but ethan really did prey on every one of her insecurities to eventually manipulate every aspect of her life, which just makes the first life so much sadder 😥
(And at the source of all of this is the shitty father that allowed those insecurities to exist in the first place to be taken advantage of 😠 I hope when he died his wife told him off for how he treated her and then he got kicked down to whatever version of hell they got there 😒)
