I think deep down he knows that he’s probably hurting Dorothea by not leaving her alone, but at the same time, she’s the only family he has left. He’s seen how his father treats Dorothea, so he probably just wants to be close to her

I don’t hate her brother but tbh I find him really frustrating and a little selfish. I understand he loves his sister and wants her attention/affection but he is so inconsiderate towards her struggles, needs, and emotions. He is just ignoring what she wants, which is for him to leave her alone, to get what he wants. Ik he is a kid so I don’t expect him to be super self aware but it seems like every other kid is picking up on the social cues he is missing so idk. It just seems like he is hurting her and constantly reopening old wounds.
