I still find it funny how ppl hate on the emperor but the commoner kids dad was WAAAAAY worse. My dad makes the emperor look like a cute puppy, but nothing like the dad that sold his kids into slavery working the mines for his gambling debts.
All the emperor really did was neglect his daughter and spoil his son. At least he didn’t manipulate them into both thinking the other was the better one. Purposely setting his own children against each other.
