I disagree. If she joins him she’ll be in the way. I get she wants to be like the princess but she hasn’t had any combat training and she’s too weak. She’ll be in danger and be a distraction.

I am torn. I understand Riftan doesn’t want his wife hurt, but he can’t be so controlling. She may not understand the magnitude of the danger, but she is aware it’s bad. There is a chance she will get hurt, but that’s on her. She isn’t ever going to get better if she doesn’t try. Why even let her do magic and tease her with learning it, just to not let her use it. He is like a dragon that hordes is treasure in his castle and treats her as just apart of his horde, sometimes. I do think Maxi is an idiot at times, but right now, I think Riftan is worse.
