Why do I get the feeling she’s trying to convince herself that she hates Monica? I think she hates her but also she always thought of her as her mom till the point of her death and also grieved and mourned for her when she died in that attack she mentioned. I guess her feelings are actually really complicated

@Mika<3: that Duke abandoned her and took no action in looking for his kidnapped granddaughter. Do you really think she can be happy and healthy growing up in such family? Meanwhile despite being poor, Monica didn't throw her away, fed her well and somehow gave her family love.

While what she did was wrong, if she were so terrible, she would’ve dumped you at an orphanage or even killed you, taking care of you held no merit for her…
Yet she raised you, cared and maybe loves you? Either way she had zero obligation to do that. Before that letter you loved her, she is a criminal however, she’s your mother because she raised you.
If you can cast her aside to live her fate to die by demons or the Duke, then you surely are a sht. It would be a different story if she treated you like dirt and abused you, but no… She was family by your own words, that means she treated you well and you believed you were loved.

Someone said that her behavior is “annoying” but I don’t see it. If I was in this situation I would hate Monica too. She basically kidnapped her and gave her a worse life than what she could have had as dudes granddaughter.
