I mean, if anything the life he is painting for her seems way better than the miserable existence she led. Supposing he isnt lying, its good he wants to reinforce the positives; if he is lying, im conflicted, he is giving her a life thats happier but not her truth… maybe to help her or not, hard to say. For all we know its the author gaslighting US into thinking the guy is bad, sus? yeah but maybe he rly isnt bad at all lol
