Looks like the great fairy had pulled out part of a spell that was put on him in addition to the curse. It will probably make things a little easier on him and lessen the problem of his heart stone from emitting that black stuff or at least reduce it.
I am thinking that he might have memory of his experiences of the timeline mentioned in the book. (So he’s probably somewhat of an adult in a child’s body, kind of like daisy is minus being from another world)
I wouldn’t be surprised if he is not only sexually aware already but it wouldn’t be surprising if he starts becoming sexually pent up or frustrated, granted with the curse on him he might also have the possibility of going into heat/rut 😅.
I’m interested to find out what is really happening and how it will affect everything.
