Guys chill, this is chapter 5 it’s not gonna make sense immediately, but I do agree that it’s a little more of a mess than the start of most stories.

I don’t know why people are complaining about this making no sense: 1. By coming to this remote duchy first she can investigate if this man is really her assassin, if he is then she can try to kill him before he does and if she gets murdered again at least she’d kniw the culprit in her next life! 2. If the duke is not her assassin tjen given how remote this place is and how dangerous he is deemed by other, this might be the best place to hide from the real murderer given she has already feigned her own death! So eitherway there was no other place better for her to go!
