It is so much more realistic that she’s forgotten a lot of her experiences from past life. She will still remember parts of story well since she will purposefully try to recall that info to protect herself all the time, but since she has spent time here and still has the growth and personality of a child, its realistic that she would forget a lot of details of her first life and things she hadn’t paid much attention to.
