Dragons are most dangerous fresh out of the egg, all so referred to as the drakonet stage.
They have no inhibitions and will bite anyone and anything they deem a threat, injecting the poor victim with atleast thirty times the lethal dose of their deadly venom, practically killing them instantly.
The baby dragons are kept in isolation untill they outgrow this stage, not for their own safety but for everyone around them.

I think you’re thinking of the “ka” in “kasai” which loosely translates to “big fire”. Fire in japanese is usually “hi” (pronounced: he), “ka” is rarely used as “fire” in japanese unless it’s a prompt or base for a larger word. For example, to roughly say “a large fire broke out” you would say “okibona >kasai< ga hassei shita". "Kai" is actually associated with the ocean and ocean adjacent stuff.
