@Miola014 You can actually kill extremely malnourished people and kids from giving them food. Like if you gave a bone skinny African child a sandwich. It’s bc the size of their stomach actually shrinks from being without food for such a long period of time. If they eat more than the size of their stomach it will burst and kill them.
So even tho they are starving, you have to give them like a pinch of food every few hours until it gradually expands to a normal size again. Obese people have the opposite problem, their stomachs are too big. So you feel like you’re starving despite eating a normal portion. That’s why you got to take dieting slow so it shrinks overtime.

Not to mention that the whole her being weak, throwing up and fainting thing just now was probably due to the food. Like she said, she’s not used to this kind of food, and she just started scarfing it down. her body isn’t ready for that.
Lots of people who are ill or have gone a long time without eating proper food aren’t able to just easily take in strong tasting and large meals right away; their bodies will often reject it and they can even become sick.
@Djbdkvogdj While I agree that most romance and fantasy novels have a really nasty tendency of underpowering and undervalueing their Female Leads(Trust me I already saw my set of tradegies) I sincerely don’t think this is the case here. Since the focus of the story so far seems to be the abuse that the FL suffered until know, how can she learn to trust her new family and how her father and brothers Will deal with her. So Thais behavior isn’t the result of a nerfed protagonist but a specific feature of this kind of narritive.
imagine if all of this is a allucination and she will wake up in the end with memories that only she has and no family, at least not one that remember her
