First thing’s first he doesn’t have the power to protect shushu but constantly brings everyone’s attention to her by giving her random gifts . Second it doesn’t matter how bad the red haired kid is for god’s sake give her some of fatherly love . Ofc she is gonna hate shushu because supposedly her own father (don’t care real father or not) doesn’t pay attention to her and takes sides of somebody else. I have been in that position I might have not done shit but it makes you feel the absolute worst , it starts make you question your birth or if you even deserve love. Doesn’t matter real biological daughter of not not in a thousand years should a child suffer because of your parents schemes. A child learns love only when they recieve one . But the red haired kid can only see shushu recieve love . You say she is attention seeker, ofc she will be who doesn’t want attention especially from their parents. If you are the guardian take responsibility. Does she really need any reason to be loved . Does a kid really need any reason to be loved .
The reasons why he is indeed a bad father are that he is extremely weak and selfish, he knows he has no power yet is doing a lot to bring Shushu to his side when he can’t protect her, he could not protect the supposed love of his life either. And I’m pretty sure red headed girl is not his daughter but I don’t think he knows that yet he treats her like she doesn’t exist, her mother is crap of course but is that the child’s fault? No. So he is incompetent and he knows it, not qualified to become our baby’s father

The emperor isn’t a trash father like the dude search for his son (since he thought shushu was male. If i remember correctly) everywhere but couldn’t her the only problem with the emperor is he is weak for the moment and if he takes shushu back he’s putting her in serious danger

He has been searching for Shuelina all his life, married by force to the red hair empress and obligued to have a child. He is aware of the intentions of his wife and unwanted daughter, so how could he care about them? He is trying his best despite having his hands tied!
